The structure of Cascina San Sudario dates back to 1680. It was originally the property of the Conti Roero di Vezza e Guarene and was described at the time as a “casiamento con giardino et orto” (a farmhouse with garden and vegetable plot).

Despite there being little historical information on Corte Bellora, while the renovation work was being carried out, it emerged from the archives that the Bellora family had been forced to relinquish all its properties to the Debenedettis a wealthy family of lawyers residing in Milan.

Cascina San Sudario has passed through the hands of different families over the years and has always been lived in. And the property has always been a meeting point for commercial and agricultural activities.

In 1920, the Cascina was sold to the Cerrato brothers, who launched their business of selling vegetables, breeding animals and marketing the salt water drawn from the well that still stands in the grounds of the house today.

Production activities were in continuous evolution, going so far, with the advent of electricity in 1943, as to include a tailor’s shop, run by Secondina, who still tells the very engaging story of the farmhouse today.

The property was purchased by the current owners in 2001, and they embarked on extensive renovation and upgrading of the surrounding area.
